Inspiring people to move
From the Mexican metropolis to the Rhineland
“Why is there no everyday solution for bicycle clipless pedals?”
This question had been on Vero's mind since she was cycling through her hometown of Monterrey in northern Mexico. During the lockdown in spring 2020, she was finally able to think long and hard about how to develop an adapter that would turn any sneaker into a click shoe. At that point, Vero was already living in Cologne. During her master's degree at KISD (Cologne International School of Design), she met Jannik, who she immediately became enthusiastic about her project. Thanks to Jannik's mechanical engineering background, the two were able to work together to bring the creative idea to market.
Vero also likes to swap her ClipClap®s and sneakers for climbing shoes. You can find her hanging on the wall in one of Cologne's many climbing/bouldering halls.
More than 10,000 kilometers across Europe
“The bicycle is by far the best means of transport for travelling.”
Jannik has covered over 10,000 kilometers of test routes on various cycling trips, including to the southernmost point in Europe. With little more than a tent and sleeping bag in his luggage - and of course a pair of Clix on his feet - he has proven that the invention works. He used the experience from the trip to improve the clipless pedal adapter, develop it further and make it the product it is today.
When Jannik is not touring Europe, you can find the Gütersloh native playing table tennis in Cologne's green belt or tinkering with some idea that is currently buzzing around in his head.
